Test kits and RO/DI

How long have you had it running? Have you had to change the cartridges yet?

I bought it December 2016. Processed on average 50+gallons per week of RO only (for coffee) and RODI water (for 4 tanks worth of water changes). Still utilizing original filters. Can see about 1/4 of first DI cartridge changed color so far. I purchased a second TDS meter to see original and discharged water. So I have on average about 180 TDS for incoming, 230 TDS output as dirty water, 2-8 TDS entering first DI cartridge, and 0 TDS outputs for first and second DI cartridges. YMMV.

As far as I'm concern, if I get 0 TDS for RODI water, I could care less what label is on my system, or in it.

Yeah I think I'm going to go with the BRS. I think I'm gonna be getting several items at once, so it would be more convenient to get them from the same retailer. Thanks for all the advice, I really appreciate it. I understand that many different companies make great products, so I don't really subscribe to the "there's only one way to reach success" thought process. I know for sure that I want to be able to use my unit for whatever tanks upgrade to in the future, and I think the BRS fits that. As for test kits, I see people suggesting the API for cycling and salifert/Red Sea as back ups. I'll probably consult my LFS for more tips and to see what they have in stock here soon. Thanks again!

I have the the BRS plus rodi system and love it one thing I wish I did from the start is get the 150 Gpd instead of the 75gpd because it's cheaper to buy it already installed vs buying later and adding it on. And as soon as I put the upgrade I can make about 5 gallons an hour vs 2 with the 75gpd also with the test kit I used the Api just for cycleing my tank then after that Red Sea and Hanna checker you will have more accurate test results and I see the api tests that are so cheap that you will still have it in your mind of how accurate they really after testing pretty much you get what you pay for with those test kits. Good for cycling a tank but for long term I wouldn't trust them

Dark with notes of Coco. Very good body Not overly bitter or roasted to death like a French or Starbucks.
It difficult to drive home with because it smells like the best mocha coffe you have ever had. Not the chemical mocha like a real one.

@EthanDouglas I have the spectrapure 90GPD 99% membrane with a booster pump hitting 100psi. That will produce 1 Home Depot bucket per hour (5gallons) with about an inch to spare also. #spectrapure

Ends up about the same as buying it directly from Spectrapure for $330 and the $25 or so shipping. Personally I would buy directly from them so you are guaranteed the freshest possible DI resins and membrane.
There really is a difference in vendors and manufacturers and Spectrapure wouldn't have been around for 32 years in the water treatment field if they were not the very best. There is no comparison when it comes to high efficiency systems that save you money every day over the competition. I'm 8.5 years on the very same RO membrane and it is still running at 99.4% rejection rate today. When I had others they lasted 18-24 months on the same source water and DI life went from 150 gallons per 20 oz cartridge to well over 1000 gallons. System paid for itself in less than 2 years over what I had before and it was supposed to be "reef quality".
