can I trust sera test kits or no? If no any suggestions for a a good test kits?

Well what are you using and does it have an expiry date?

I like my Red Sea Kits. Except for the Alkalinity test and ive seen many people have issues with that one. Will invest in a Hanna Alkalinity checker.

Ive got 2 Reasea Alk test kits. The one that came with the Marine care test kit and the Coral foundation kit. Both worked great for a bit, but slowly lost its color. Now I cant tell where the end point is. Mind you the kit is less then a year old. There is actually a thread on here about a couple of people that are having the issue with it. Not that its a bad kit, just degrades quickly.

I've never heard of sera kits. I use Red Sea and Salifert with no problems.

There is a lot of great in for here and a lot of names where thrown out there! If you guys had your pick from best to worst test kit which ones would it be. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to spend money on

Favorite for alkalinity is my hanna checker
Favorite for calcium is redsea.

Hate Salifert... They are easy to use but seem to be way off from each other from box to box.

If you have the money for it go Hanna. If not Redsea makes awesome kits.

Red Sea is great. I have Hanna's as well but never use them, they can lose calibration at any point and u wont know until most likely it's too late. Red Sea is safest imo

I've never got the Hanna checkers test kits but always wanted to. See you make a good point in why not to go digital. I guess old school is the best for now.
Got lots of mixed readings from Hanna users and most aren't to pleased but for the fact they don't have to compare colours! If you ask me go with the stuff the been around for a while
