are the regents the same ( nitrate, ammonia) in saltwater kits than in fresh water kits? I know freshwater doesnt have the other tests in them that saltwater does. like phos. etc

Some saltwater test kits will work with fresh water. It is usually noted on the package.

Anything that specifically says freshwater I wouldn't recommend using.

If you want to really get into this hobby, trash anything that has to do with freshwater testing and get your self a really good testing kit,either salifert,hanna or redsea
