Hello everyone I am not really new to SW but I have never tested for Magnesion and Iodion and dont know what test kits to get to test for them. I cant find anything. I won a bottle of both of them for my LFS. They are form Brightwell Aquatics.

I've used the salifert and red sea pro tests for both .....came in very close to each other. Actually prefer the salifert for magnesium - better color change for me - and the red sea pro for iodine.

Also used both salifert and red sea pro for CA, ALK & MG.
Currently using red sea pro because you can just buy reagents without buying the entire test kit (cheaper after initial cost).
I don't test for iodine.

i use red sea pro for I2 and salifert for mag I also have a ELOS test kit but they are really expensive and I only use them if I get a weird reading on the other two. being new to the hobby I would get your self a Hanna checker might save you alot of trouble. I would also leave Iodine alone until you get some experience in the game also your water changes should fullfil the need for both if you do them on the reg, I would only play with those to additives if you know what you are doing for sure specially I2 but like I said Iodine needs should be met if you do regular changes with a good salt.

have used both salifert and red sea for the magnesium. The salifert is better and easier to tell when it changes. But when you get the hang of the RS they both test very similiar to each other.
The RS ALK, CAL & MG pack is nice tho, and refillable!
