Testing After Dosing

Probably a dumb question but I was curious, after dosing your tank with Alk and CA, how long do you wait before testing it again? I usually dose at night and don't test until the next night but the tank will use some of what was dosed during that day in between. So I was just curious how long should you wait before testing?

As soon as it mixes in, you can test, which might be less than 5 minutes in a sump-free system, or longer for a system with extended sumps and refugia. Like food coloring mixing in to a single shade.

Thanks. I have about 20 gallons worth of sump under my tank so I'm guessing somewhere around 15 min or so should probably be mixed enough to test.
