i got few questions on testing for a fish tank (no corals)
1. is alkalinity test important for fish only tank?
2. what is the most important to less important test? for example Ammonia is the most important, Nitrate, Nitrite or PH?
3. the most ideal temp for fish only tank?
4. any lighting requirements?
5. any other advice for happy fish?

thanks

I only check sg, and not that often. PC lighting, and temp around 78-79.

IMO, you want to treat it like any other tank - monitor pH, Alk, NH3, NO2, NO3, sg, temp, etc. Keep the sg a little lower than a reef tank (~1.020).
