So, I noticed on a BRS video a month or so ago that apparently Triton will add this to their ICP testing in the future. I also noticed yesterday when doing some testing that my Salifert KH test has other tests they make written on the wide of the box, and an organics test is on there. I have never seen this though so I guess it is probably discontinued.
Anyway, we talk all day about nutrients - phosphates and nitrates. Nobody ever mentions DOC's other than when talking about skimming. I think knowing the level of DOC's would be very beneficial and likely explain a lot about how are tank is working or how corals are doing when everything else might be in line. It may explain why someone has a cyano or algae outbreak when everything else is in line. It may let us know if our skimmer is working correctly or is sized correctly, etc.
So, is this really that hard to test for?
