Testing iodine?

Does anyone test for iodine and is it needed in a mixed reef tank ? I have never tested for iodine but want to hear if I should. I was always told that’s it is impossible to really test it so don’t bother ?

I think salifert makes one, there are a few species that require trace amounts of it like shrimp for molting, but most reefers accomplish this level just with a regular water change schedule, some people do dose it. But there are a few different species of iodine and is impossible with the tests we have if the iodine you have is the iodine species used.
