Hey reefers I’m using a Hanna phosphorus check my reading was 30. I looked at a chart to convert it to phosphate it would be 0.092 ppm. I’m looking at adding rowaphos to my tank it is 200 gallons to bring my phosphate down to 0.003 it saying to add 72ml is this correct? Or em I doing it wrong?

You want to go lite with Rowaphos.

Go with 50ml.

you undertand this is a volumetric measurement, not grams?

I think your po4 is in a good place. Personally, I wouldn't recommend you go as low as 0.003 or 0.03 you meant?
Going too low or too high is threading on a thin line AFAIK.

But if you're going to add rowaphos, go slow like what gboardbridge said. it can deplete very quickly.

This is what I’ve been going off of. I thought my phosphate where high so I thought I bring them down and everyone says 0.03. I thought that what the chart meant

I would try to stay at 0.05 at least you have a buffer up or down. but if your corals are doing fine, I wouldn't try to chase those numbers. Not forgetting nitrates have to be sorta in balance as well or you'll run into lots of issues.

I wouldn't try to go any lower, and if your nitrate is reading zero you need more not less.

I have a tank full of acros and I'm happy with phosphate arounf 0.1 and nitrate around 10.

You're playing with fire if you go any lower on a tank less than 2-3 years old,

You really don't want to go there

what algae is that you're facing?

I get it at 48ml which is 4 tablespoons. , that would get you down to 0.03, not sure why you are aiming for 0.003 or was that a typo?

I would first try a lower dose than suggested to see how your tank reacts to it, you can always add more.

I usually do 1 table spoon per 10 gals .
it’s close to half of the recommended but you don’t want it to drop too fast. Or drop to zero .

From the calculator I use it doesn’t scale, for a 200g tank it only recommends 4 table spoons, what calculator are you going off?

I think your phos is fine, no reason to change anything unless your corals are suffering. But if you want to pull it down I recommend using brightwell aquatics phos - e and microbactor. In my experience it has nothing but do what I need it to do.
