Testing R/O?

Just set up a used R/O system. Do I need to test the water before using? If so what tests?

At a minimum, I would would get a hand held tds meter from Amazon (about $20) and test the tds in and out of the unit. You should see about a 90 plus percent tds reduction through the ro. If if also has di, you should get tds of zero after section.

Yes .. definitely check tds . if tds is up to 5 I will change out to new filters. That’s what my reef shop recommended when I first bought used set on eBay. My spectrapure has an attached meter to check ..
