testing setup

I am in the process of testing my setup sca 80 gallon with sapphire 26 sump , no leaks so far however my return pump cannot keep up if I fully open the drain valve. Its a jebao dcp8000, I have it at full power should I get something else before I put actual saltwater in the tank. I have been out of the hobby for a long time so any advice is welcome. Also can anyone explain how the tunze 3155 works because while I was running the setup without the tunze, I removed water from the display and the return section of the sump didn't get lower, so I removed more and kept doing so with no decrease noticed, then the water got too low to drain and sucked air???? Help.

That pump is rated at 2000+ gph? Whats the head height? There's head loss at every 90 degree turn. Have pic of your plumbing?

Just setup a SCA 150 and had to take off the pinched end of the line loc in order for it to have enough flow out to keep up with flow in.

I post pics, 62 inches to the T to dual loclines, I thought dcp8000 would be plenty.
