Testing Water

I think it depends on the frequency of your testing and your water changes.

For example, I test every three days and then do a 20% water change every two weeks. I make sure my tests are at the same time (typically 8:00 PM) so that I know that the time between tests is pretty close to 72 hours. Then I can track consumption rate pretty reliably. On water change days, those usually happen in the morning and I'll test at 8:00 PM that night so I have a good baseline, and then start my every three days from there.

The only tank I really test on a regular basis is the QT tank. just cannot get the Ammonia low...but besides that, I will test the DP now and then. If you had a problem with the numbers and did a water change...I would check again the next day.
