Somethings going on with my tank, ,my water parameters are just off. So I'm going to a trusted friend's shop so he can test my water the only thing I currently have to transport it is a small Mason jar. But would metal affect the test results? I'm assuming not.

I personally wouldn't worry about any contamination - it wont be in the jar long enough to throw anything off

The lid of mason jars have a coating to protect the metal from anything acidic like pickles. I use plastic zip lock bags myself. Whether or not your water parameters are actually off I would do water changes and run GFO. There's a lot of things that can go wrong and won't show up on basic tests.
