Testing with ammonia

When testing waste processing by dosing with ammonia, is it OK to use regular cleaning ammonia or is there some purer formulation I should use? The bottle in my hall closet lists "water, ammonium hydroxide, surfactant" as ingredients.

Use ammonia chloride , follow directions. And get a test kit ONLY for NH3.

hardware stores will carry pure ammonia. just nothing with scents or other ingredients. use a seachem badge to rest for free ammonia.
