Hello all,

What are your main methods and how frequent do you test your parameters ?

If you purchase an Apex system , does this do away with testing completely as it is recorded instantly to your phone, computer or iPad?

Thanks

No. It only tests three parameters. I test calcium, alk, magnesium, nitrate, and phosphate. You also will need to test to make sure the trident is in the ballpark. Trident is testing 4 times a day and I manually test nitrate and phosphate weekly. I test the main three monthly or bi monthly

Ok , but if you purchased a hanna etc to test other parameters , could you get away with not using the traditional manual methods of testing ?

Just to clarify here, you may already know, but let's make sure.....
An Apex does not test anything. The Neptune Apex is the controller brain that can run and monitor many things. You can record your manual testing results into the apex in order to keep track, graph, etc.
A Neptune Trident does do testing for alkalinity, magnesium, and calcium. Frequency is configured by the user.

Testing parameters on anyone's tank is a personal and educated process. What I mean by this is, for example, one new tank, I tested nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, ph. As my tank has matured, I test alk daily, calcium and mag weekly, but nitrate and phosphate every other week.
I have built a routine around my tank, and have some predictability and consistency....this comes with time.
