You must have cursed me this morning.

For seven days my newly purchased anenome sat in the same place happy as can be. Then you delivered the "you'll regret that purchase speech."

Just as you said, I got home this evening to the mess. :squigglemouth:

So I pryed him out of the circulation pump and tossed him in the lake.

So... before I go waste more $$ is there anything else I shouldnt purchase?

LOL! Just ask next time before buying something and we will all tell you yes or no!

And really don't listen to just anyone.... People with there heads in their butt aren't the brightest, so just ask me anytime you have questions.

If your at the store just call... I don't mind telling LFS owners they are wrong :).

Its my avatar buts its in memory of you brandon! HEHE

Tell me how to post a pic here and I will. I need to post pics of the construction as well. Guess I need to setup a photo bucket acct. I'll do it tomorrow.

Ouch, thats never a fun loss. Nems arent cheap at all. But it could always be worse, I lost all my fish when I upgraded to my 55 gallon and still don't know exactly what happened... Luckily my corals and inverts all survive so I'm guessing the psuedochromis I added last brought in some kind of disease, but my flame angel was the first to go!

Always use caution with purchases and QT like mad!!!!

That's the problem with nems. They do tend to move around and leave a path of destruction behind them (if not their own destruction).....

Yeah, got a new rose bubble tip Saturday, firmly attached to a rock. Put it in my new little nano tank, right in the middle, surrounded by other rocks and dead coral, it was looking great. Sunday morning awoke and the tank was cloudy, and the nem had moved. But it looked like it was attached to the back wall and seemed to be OK so I left it alone. A couple of hours later, power filter was making a funny noise, and the nem was missing. So, I pulled it out of the power filter. Miraculously, it still seems to be alive, though missing a good amount of tentacles. Hope it pulls through, it was really pretty.

I would be scared to try a nem in a nano. They are beautiful, but they can move at least a couple of feet in a day without any trouble (meaning they could be in your filter pretty quickly if they want. They'll sometimes let go and float to where ever which is even worse sinc they will go with the flow, but they seem to prefer to wander attached when possible. I've got a good sized tank with some powerheads that they could get to, but they'd have to float to get there for the most part. Good luck!!! You are much braver than I am!!

Well, the plan for the new tank (~16 gallons) was to be a pair of clowns and a nem, with a few other corals thrown in (especially the free zoas I won here on R2R since my Moorish Idol eats any zoas in my 240 gallon tank). I figured the nem would stay put since it is right under the lights (2 T-5's), plus it came attached to a rock so I figured it was happy. Plus i sort of corralled it in between a bunch of rocks and corals so it couldn't move too far very easily. WRONG!... So now I need to figure out how to keep it out of the filter until it finds its happy place, that is if it even survives...

Maybe superglue a mesh screen around the filter intake or around the powerhead? Anyone ever tried that?
