Just as the title of the post says - I am very grateful for Adam's help troubleshooting the problems with my mixed reef. I placed an order for some sps and asked if he could wait a bit to ship them because I was having problems. It's a good thing I waited, because in the meantime all of my sps started to rtn. It's a long story as to what happened, but suffice it to say I had been having some issues with stn and cyano for a long time. Adam offered to help troubleshoot and quickly zeroed in my problem - my rodi system. I'm still in the process of getting my rodi and reef squared away, but at least now I see light at the end of the tunnel. My remaining sps have stopped losing tissue and have started to heal. What a relief.

Thanks again Adam!! Can't wait to get those frags - I'm sure they will be every bit as awesome as people say they are.

Now i'm curious, What was wrong with your ro/di system if you don't mind me asking?

Previous to 2010 my tank was doing great - I was using distilled water. I added a rodi system in 2010 and didn't maintain it properly. Starting about the beginning of 2013 things started going downhill. I thought since I changed the di resin when the inline tds meter started reading above 0 I was ok, but with a good handheld meter I can see it starts reading .8ppm *when the color indicating resin was only 50 - 75% depleted*. I used to use the di resin when it was just about 100% depleted. Problems that I'm addressing - I waited too long to change my Ro membrane (fixed recently) and pressure is too low at 40psi (need a booster pump). I need a second di stage as well. I have terrible tap water.
