A good security (camera/alarm) system will go a long way!

If your still having issues with the MP60, give me call.

Oh I am having issues! I'll call you tomorrow while I am on the road.

We have an excellent alarm system already in place and what good is a camera if someone doses my tanks with bleach? Damage is done.

Just curious why so much paranoia?

The real hurdle for us being open is security. It seems like every day we read about systems getting sabotaged and until we can come up with a solution I don't know when we will be open. By appointment is doable anytime just call us and if we are there(I am there everyday) you are welcome to come on in.

This is a subject for an entirely different thread but here are some ideas we are tossing around.

1. Cherry Corals will operate as a club and in order to enter you must join(its free to join) and provide us with some very basic information and a photocopy of your drivers license. No join, no entry.

2. We will only allow as many people in as can be escorted throughout the facility at any given time. If its just Brett and I working then I foresee just 4 people in at a time.

3. A combination of the above, we are putting in a nice lobby with a little kitchenette and couch's for those who choose to wait.

I suppose these may be unpopular restrictions but this is likely how its going to be run.

I could not agree more with carrying out something similar to one of these potential solutions. Opening the vats with hundreds of corals in them to the public is very risky and like you said, based off of all of the sabotage and criminal activity that has recently happened to various stores, it is better to be safe than sorry.

If I am ever in the area, I will probably want to make an appointment! Sweet looking corals! I can't wait to see more pictures of the warehouse!

Everyone we know with a store has had something bad happen... theft, break-ins, tank poisonings. When you are dealing with livestock its always a risk. So not being paranoid... just trying to be smart about it.

The Cherry Corals Club will be a good way to manage everything and have specials that are in store and local pick up only. When you think about it, it wont be much different than buying something online. Just a bit of information and a hair sample for DNA... totally kidding!! =D

Is this a local thing thats been going on or just in general? I'm not opposed to such an idea. To be honest as a customer I could see it being beneficial on the customers part. Better service. Ya have no idea how many times I've had to stand around waiting for assistance just to get a fish or food or something in a shop thats a full house. I understand your worries and was just curious.

I don't know about anything local in this area like that happening, but there have been problems all over the nation. In the last month a place in Washington if I remember the location correctly had a copper solution that was dumped in their tank resulting in a lot of loss of livestock.

The aquarium at belle isle (I think) was just recently bleached..... and they don't even sell stuff its just a public attraction that some hooligans decided to needlessly kill off!

I definitely like the idea of the cherry club!! :)

I don't really see these as unpopular. It's your hide you're trying to protect and that's a good thing. You and Brett need to be comfortable with security and how you do so is totally up to you. Honestly, I applaud you for taking the precautions you are over your livestock. I would likely do something similar.

I'll be calling in the next couple of weeks for a visit late one afternoon if possible once my schedule cools of and the tank settles in a bit more.

Now ya got me paranoid about my own tank. I don't like maintenance people coming in when I'm not home as it is. Someone jacking up my tank adds to it. Especially when you look at things from a "what would it cost to replace" stand point.

Love the new Cherries ! Awesome pieces Guys!! Good luck with the security for locals as I hope it works out for you soon. You always do a great job shipping so Im a happy customer.
