I was feeding the fish yesterday and looked over the tanks. When I peeked inside the sps display tank, I was greeted with this. I actually had to turn the color saturation down on the photo! Lol!

*Edit, after looking again, I realized that I posted the wrong photo. This is the one that I turned down the saturation on, and the one that looks like reality.

Those are some incredible acros!

is that a single colony? If so, Wow some parts have purple tips
It’s actually two, but one is a year older. The smaller colony is more colorful though. Here’s more of a front view with each circled.

wow…and for a few frags I won’t disclose any of your dirty secrets LOL
Seriously tho, did you make some kinda change recently or what gives?

One of the most satisfying things about reefing for me was beautiful acro colors with new growth tips! Congrats on all the reefing success my friend!

Lol! Actually, yes. I used to not test for phosphate. I found out it was zero, though I have about 25 nitrate. So about 3-4 months ago I started dosing phosphate to keep it at least .05 ppm. My sps frag tank has a similar PO4 consumption (about .01 ppm a day), so my assumption is that sps coral (maybe the zooxanthellae?) consume it. My softy and lps frag tanks do not consume PO4. I never imagined that it would make a difference, but I think it did.

Thank you sir! Honestly R2R has been instrumental in helping me hone my reefing skills. I thank you and the reefing community for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm! I hope to continue to build upon my reefing and help others where I can. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Well “we” are “you” and “you” are “we!”

We can’t do this without one another and you’ve been very instrumental in the success of others here as well. :)

I forgot to post my stats for camera usage, Lol!
This was taken with an iPhone 15 Pro Max with an Orphek lens kit. I think the colors were too vivid as captured by the camera, so I muted the color saturation and sharpened the photo.

Is this with a top down box or above the water line? Or you submerging the phone in the water lol?

Top down, just above the water line with all flow off. It was tricky trying to not create a shadow with the phone or my arm, as this is in only a 75 gallon tank.

Oh I feel so terrible for you, having to turn down the saturation?! Really terrible stuff.

JK. Those are amazing. Really stunning to see and something to strive for!

Looks like it's time to start fragging those overgrown bushes!

If I were in Michigan I would come over and help you.

Oh, I’ve been asked quite a few times about that! Lol! I only have one little frag, and that was because I accidentally broke off a piece while cleaning the tank. I don’t ever want to frag these, honestly. They are sorta a testament to my sps reefing journey. I’ve bleached them out a few times and they are super slow growers. This year they are finally taking off. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
