Just noticed it today, guessing a coral of some type, but honestly I don't have a clue. I just noticed it today, but I've been watching the tank pretty frequently and didn't see it before. The frag was added... 2 weeks ago?

I have no idea what 'thing' it is you are asking about? It might help if you added a arrow pointing at it or draw a circle around it.

Look at the first pic to the right of the middle zoa, maybe its that green thing he's asking about?

Yup, it's the green thing. Wasn't able to see if it opens up more, that's as open as I saw it yesterday

in the last picture if you zoom in it looks like little clear tentacles are coming out, almost like feeder tentacles.

When it retracts, it just looks like a flat green splotch

I saw the same thing but when I zoomed in, it looks like the tentacles are coming out of the rock.

I think you may be right. It looks like it's growing on an old candy cane coral skeleton.

Not candy cane, that's a branching coral. Most likely a Micro Lord, I have owned some with the same coloration (which is not at all like that of a candy cane). Either way, awesome find my friend! Whatever it is, keep it fed and it should have new growth!
Good luck, stay safe and God bless you!
