That flexible turbing for overflow to sump?

I can't find that flexible tubing that i see a lot of people use in their overflow to sump. Does anyone know what exactly it is called and where i can get it? I'm not talking about that vinyl one either i'm looking at the one that's like the dishwasher hose.

I got my Eshopps overflow with the 1" bulbheads and I can't find anything that fits to that connection..

The threads on the bulkhead don't fit anything but the collar that screws on. I glued PVC pipe into them. 1 rigid with a valve and one flexible PVC I got at Lowes.

You can get the flexible hose at hot tub and spa suppliers.

Bulkheads come in threaded and slip versions. I've always used a soft silicone pipe sleeve between my bulkhead and PVC plumbing. It makes for easy ability to remove/disconnect and to reinstall. It also isolates pump vibration from the tank. They are in the plumbing section at HD & Lowes.

Of the 2 pictured above, the smooth is a much better choice than the ribbed. This is due to the ridges ability to trap detritus and the turbulence they cause. Although it is certainly more flexible it is not necessarily better for our use. I do like Ron does and use 99% regular PVC with vinyl or silicone tubing to isolate vibrations from pumps and to avoid putting stress on the bulkheads and inadvertently cracking the tank.

I like these for drains. I used the old ones from wetdry filters. Also You can get it at a Pool Supply. Not sure about being food safe.Would need a little research.

Check it doesn’t leak. Order 6 of em, from dr fosters, a few months ago and all but one leaked

Those dr fosters are double walled. Smooth inside, ribbed outside. If you buy very cheap ones they may be single wall and ribbed inside as you describe

Inside that bulkhead you can glue 1 inch pvc. Then slide the hose over that pvc for a much stronger connection, and still removable

The ridges are a good thing because of the gas exchange they create from the turbulence and if you have proper flow and no sagging in the line there is virtually no detritus build up at all.. have used them on every sump I have ever set up in the last 30+ years of reefing.
