Does anyone have a fish the just despise but love at the same time!?!? A fish that does something that just drives you crazy!

I have a blue tang for about 2 years now that just started tale slapping water onto the front glass and all over the floor! Im not talking about a few drops of water here. Oh no this blue tang is easily 6" and splashing a cup full of water each time! its gotten so frequent that its starting to actually effect my salinity in the tank! i can be any room of the house and hear the water hit the ground!

i guess what im asking is how should i discipline this child??

END OF RANT.

CORAL BEAUTY!!!!!

I absolutely love it, but it was turning into a bully to my tomini tang and blue throat trigger.

I sumped him for 2 weeks.

I really didn’t expect it to do anything, but yesterday I put him back in the tank.

To my surprise the tang and trigger put him in his place and now I’m sitting here enjoying my CB again.

He is all over as usual but not bothering tank mates and avoiding the the tang and trigger.

Why is he doing this? How big is the tank? Has he outgrown it?

I mean, you could put a lid on the tank. But if this is new behavior, looking into changes that brought it on may be something to look at.

My Cinnamon clownfish. When I set up my very first tank I foolishly cycled it with damsels, and they were aggressive. My first real nice fish was an ocellaris and it got killed off by the damsels. My next fish was a Cinnamon clownfish, partly because it was the only clownfish in stock, and it was much bigger.
15 years later I still have that fish and every time I put my hand in the tank he attacks.
I named him Butch. We have a love/hate relationship.

I don’t think he’s too big for that tank but either way he’s going into a bigger tank soon enough. I think he just likes seeing me clean the glass

I have the same fish that does the exact same thing. It drives me crazy. I have had it since it was 1” big and is easily 8” now so I’ve grown really fond of it even though I always have to clean the glass.

At least I know I’m not the only one! Im sitting on the couch watching the tang just repeatedly do it!

My blue hippo lately had become a nipper. Ever time I put my hand in the tank he bites me. My vlamingi actually chases him away and tries to protect me. it's kinda funny but the hippo is getting bigger(about 5inches now) and it's starting to actually hurt lol. He drew blood once too.

Ha I was just about to make a new thread on how to keep splashing down from my hippo tang. Hes reaching my led/t5 lights 18" above the water covering them in saltwater. The description for these fish at stores should have a caution for splashing!

Im lucky that he doesn’t get the water that high. Now that’s a serious issue

I love the look of tanks without lids. That being said I also love my fish in the tank. I sometimes get sidetracked when feeding and walk away without closing the lid. I luckily found my clown fish in time to return him. But my Blue spotted jaw fish was found by my puppy. I must admit the antics of splashing fish is hilarious. I just hope they never end up on the floor.

Huh, mine is the opposite - she's always grabbing paper towels and cleaning the glass.
