That one thing you can’t keep?

Clams. My tank is stuffed with acros and I feed heavily AND feed plankton daily and clams just stall out and waste away. Nutrients, lighting, and water parameters are all in line to theoretically keep clams super happy, but I just can’t. I used to have clams, but introduced a new one that brought a disease in with it and 3 years later any clam I introduce dies. Oh well.

Acropora Monticulosa, and some of the other nubby branched acropora are really hard to keep happy and colored. Still not sure why but I think its something the hobby has to figure out and improve on so they stop getting imported and dying. I don't know a lot of people who have success with these types.

A lot of these corals above people seem to have problems with when nutrients are not right for their liking.

Huh... I haven’t kept any of those yet. Only stags and those maricultured acro frags you get from liveaquaria for me. Those have been relatively easy so long as I do my weekly water change. However, I haven’t tried any of the tabling/branching acros yet....

Pretty much all SPS. It probably doesn't help that I overstock the heck out of my tank and dose absolutely nothing other than Vibrant. In other words, I don't really try.

I cant keep torches alive. All my acros and other LPS like hammers, duncans and lobos grow well in my tank. Maybe my tank is too 'clean' if there is such a thing. Torches just hate me

Softies seem to do OK in my tanks, have yet to get anything like a birdnest (Skeleton type) coral to live. Nothing really seems to grow (just lives) except a Zenia like softy (It's not a Zenia but might be part of the general family.
