After many years , i realize , we got 2 options,
# 1 Push for grow.
# 2 Keep algae free and clean tank.

Refer to #1 , i use 4 of 5 Gal. Sulfur Denitrification , use 90 Gal. refuge full of Pukany Rocks, make my own food , feed heavy , both Fish and Corals. Great grow , great color. NO3 4 ppm Po4 0.02 to o.o6 pm, great balance.

Refer to # 2 , i use only 2 of 5 Gal. Sulfur Denitrification , same refuge ( 90 Gal.) NO3 0.25 to 0.50 ppm , feed less ( 1/2) lost grow and color, but zero Algae.

I have to go back on 4 of 5 Gal. Sulfur Denitrification

I have 300 Gal. tank, 60 Gal. swamp, 90 Gal. refuge.

What are you growing in your fuge? You must have a much bigger bioload than I do. Sometimes I’m forced to dose nitrates to keep enough nutrients in the water for coral and algae to continue growing.

How do you dose Nitrates? I am having a problem with having close to zero Nitrates and .03 using Hannah checker.

I have tried over feeding and still, same results.

I have an algae scrubber, should I turn it off? I just don’t want to throw off my balance in the tank, I would rather add Nitrates.

I wouldn’t rush into dosing nitrates. Do some reading of the threads on here at the very least. It can be dangerous. I use loudwolf sodium nitrate.

Can you reduce your algae scrubber light? Say cut the time it’s on in half then wait and see if nutrients tick up and colors improve.

Also more fish help.

I try Algae Scrubber i try to grow Chaetto also i grow so much Macro Algae , i got undetectable NO3 , i dose all kind of stupid thinks to see some Nitrate , some frags stay frags for ever NO color NO grow, i give up in Macro Algae for few reasons, first, best place for Dino is to hang in those Algae, Dino love "o" Nitrate "o"PO4 love whatever die in the tank (in special snails) , very hard to balance Nitrate when you grow Macro Algae , is close to "o" then remove some , and jump to 4 ppm. I have NO light in 90 Gal. refuge , grow pods , dose bacteria. My Sulfur Denitrification take water fro refuge ( end of tank) then go back in sump , back to main display tank, i run also 2 pumps behind Protein Skimmer, push back , whatever miss. Run intake air from outside, run Calcium Reactor on idle , back up by Vertex Libra to add some Alk. and Mag. i try to introduce less CO2 in my display, i run one pump , by take it water from bottom release to top, remove some CO2 , i got NO sand , i run 11 pumps on display ( 300 Gal.)

I also have some large Tangs , my yellow belly tang is close to 10" he eat 1/2 of one clam a day, poo like pig , Chocolate Tang ( 4 to 5" ) same, fish, food increase ( natural) the Nitrate then bacteria control it, is great to have Nitrate 4 ppm and PO4 0.02 to 0.06 , Refuge in my opinion is a must, just like P.S. in , the key is.......feed heavy ........but remove fast the NO3 ,PO4 by using bacteria. Macro Algae is GREAT but very aggressive , hard to balance, NOT great for full SPS tank , remove more then we know ( Manganese , Magnesium, Potassium etc.) nobody know exactly what else may remove.
