The 1200 Gallon Tank Proposal (School Project)

So, I am wrapping a Technical Writing course and am working on a 10 page proposal. The final idea I went with was a proposal for a University full spectrum saltwater tank system for their Marine Biology program. Three 400 gallon tanks connected through one filtration system plus quarantine tanks. One predator tank, one passive/reef tank, and one very large refugium hosting algae, possibly coral, and refugium safe critters.

I currently have my own 10g saltwater mixed tank and am about to upgrade to a 29g but, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to dream this big

I've been pouring my time into filling out an outline and rough draft while completing as much research as possible when I got a great idea, I'll go start a suggestion thread! So what I am looking for is if anyone is interested just for fun to throw some ideas out there on equipment, livestock, or other suggestions that I can consider for a project of this size. Of course I'll do some research into those ideas and see if I can't pile them into the proposal!

Thanks for any help, I'll keep my eyes on the thread just in case but right now I am going back to work!

I am also creating a huge tank system 2000 gallons 1000 gallon reef with all sorts of tangs, 500-700 gallon fowlr and a unknown size sump. One thing you need to have is a apex system. I will put it on mine. Apex is like a aquarium brain to do top off, testing, feeding, lighting ect

Definitely added that into the mix, thanks for the direction! Shame there so pricey that would be fantastic even on my nano tank!

Looks like the final tank design (still filling in components) will 3 400 gallon tanks plus sump, holding tank for RODI water (around 600 gallons) and a couple smaller quarantine tanks. Definitely a great addition to have an Apex.

I would also think about power requirements and ventilation requirements. I would also be thinking about redundancy measures for power(generator/batteries) and having replacement pumps/parts on hand. I am in the process of building a 1600 gallon system and there are lots of things to consider when building a system of the size you are talking about.
