The Adrine Project

For the first time saw a gurnard fish. Not a red gurnard fish, it looked like camouflage. It swam, when it saw my Chihuahua Dog in my arms. I was at a LFS. At first I thought I saw a bird in the tank. I want one.

Looks kind of like a mutant Scooter Blenny. Even a little like a Sea Robin. Thanks for sharing it!

The diatoms start to show up. Today I got 2 pistol shrimp gobies, 1 pistol shrimp and ten more hermit crabs. The hermits start to clean the sand directly

This how it look in the moment they enter the system

Lasse, I know you are a hermit connoisseur, do you have preferences or restrictions for particular species only?

No I get what I find and do a valuation afterwards. I stay away from the large beach hermits - love the small ones. I have few Calcinus elegans because - IMO - it have a bad surviving rate at least in my tanks. I love the small species - there is one from Caribbean - very small with grey to black legs and this very small with red legs that have done a lot of good things in my aquariums. But my philosophy is - as many species as possible - the more niches will be covered.

Looking so good already, that rock background is something else... pinching that idea for a future tank, even found a supplier in the uk...
Yes - and you can do so much with the modules. You do not need to staring at an ugly pump - you only see a rock and not the water coming out of it if you do it well. You can have filter inside, or what ever.

I have no power head in this tank. It is around 75 liter and the return pump gives around 1000 l/h. It is a rather good flow. I was thinking of upgrading the return pump to one DC pump at 2000 l/h - but we will see. I have also the possibility to mount a module in the upper right corner and hide a small RW 4 there. The outlet from the return is in upper right corner

Lol that explains why I couldn’t see one, I know how you love hiding them and thought you had done a really good job with this tank...
