The Angel Lovers Thread

Apparently the beautiful Genicanthus melanospilos has been successfully bred in captivity, the image was shared by Rising tide Conservation and Quality marine, just adorable.

Big fan of the appearance of eibli, bicolor and rusty’s

Anyone had success with this combo. Anyone had success at all with bicolor?

FOWLR not reef btw
Almost. I have an Eibli and two bicolors but haven't come across a good rusty specimen yet.

Couldn't get all three in one shot, and sadly still terrible at taking photographs, but I promise there are two bicolors and an Eibli in there :D

Just got a captive bred Goldflake! Tiny little fella with a big appetite, unfortunately it has some HLLE but I’m confident it will heal. Also hopeful that due to its current size it will not leave any lasting scars. First pic is with 4 inch PVC for size reference, 2nd is with a McCoskers wrasses for size reference and the last pic shows the HLLE.

Nice! Congrats! A big appetite is usually a great sign. Should heal up nicely as long as the little guys eating well

I have 2 or 3 separate pairings of different dwarf angels (not 100% sure my bicolors are paired), a harem of 4 flame angels (although I suspect I have two males), and I am so freaking jealous of your Multibar pair

So awesome! Welcome!

Aww thanks! I’m very jealous of your flame angels!! Nicely done. Sounds like you have a really great… collection seems like a weird word to use

Thanks! I really appreciate that. If you don't mind me asking, what are you feeding your Multibars? It's so hard to get them eating. Luckily the one currently in my tank just happens to be a pig but outside of him the other Multibars I've tried didn't take to anything I tried.

Edit: correct typo to feeding, not feeling

We started out with lobster eggs, then we gradually added a mix of frozen mysis, brine, and lobster eggs. Now they even eat pellets! They are definitely little piggies as well. I think it helped that we had them in an acclimation box for a few weeks to get them eating without stress at first.

Thanks!! I'll have to try lobster eggs in the future. My current Multibar seems to actually prefer dry food for some reason. I guess it works out since I feed twice a day with the auto feeder anyway. I'll throw in another poor quality photo of the little guy, just keep the angel love flowing

I wish ours liked dry food! Would make traveling easier.
