It definitely has traits of both species, it also coincides in geographic location, IMO it's not an aberrant G.melanospilos, and it would be great if a professional could analyze this fish.Here’s my Genicanthus… question is, hybrid? Pure blood? Melanospilos? Caudovittatus?
My LFS have looked at this guy and nobody can figure out what he truly is. We settled for Melanospilos so far however after seeing a pair of Caudovittatus in person, it’s making me question this guy.
My LFS also thought this guy could be a hybrid. I’m beginning to lean that way but would also love for experts to see what they believe this fish is.Look at this:

Thanks! They are not in any medication in my system. Will just observe and see how they do for now. The store I got it from did a great job treating them for a couple weeks with general cure and prazi and were in copper water.
Get that scribbled a mate! They have been the least painful Angel for me to pair, and they really take to one another.
