The Angel Lovers Thread

@3FordFamily, PLEASE post a pic of Goliath in this thread! That is one of the most awesome angels around, and definitely needs to be shown off in here!

You ask and you shall receive!

Meet Goliath, the 8" True Red Sea Regal Angelfish with a misbar on one side. I think Goliath is a female based on the small relative size of the blue gill appendage ("spine") at the bottom, my last one was bigger and the fish was a mere 4.5".

She ate within 2 hours of being added to her qt and is easily my favorite angelfish. If you check my sig, she has lots of competition.

For scale, the purple tang is about 3.75", the chevron under 2", and yellow and Desjardini Sailfin are 2.5 inches or less.

Gorgeous angel! Curious the pinkish with yellow fish, wrasse or doty?

It's a transitioning (from female to male) kuiters leopard wrasse

Goliath is gorgeous! I have often considered a Regal Angel for my reef, but have not been brave enough to pull the trigger. Being equally a fan of wrasse that Kuiter's is amazing as well. I have several fairy wrasse but have not dove into the leopard or tamarin's yet.

beautiful angels and diamond tail flasher wrasse!

Thanks! They're very hard to get eating, with my last one it was a 1-2 month war. I won - then killed it during TTM being a moron!

Leopards are best tried in groups to start. If you dive in get a few leopards you can mix species just fine.

Those are some beautiful angels! Love the Goldflake, another of my favorites. Like the addition of the Pyramid Butterflies too. Have often considered adding a trio, but for some reason they are difficult to obtain in my area.

3fordfamily - I eventually will tackle the leopards. I had understood from a friend and LFS owner about mixing and adding a group at once. I need to deepen my sand bed before I do so though. I keep it right about 1" currently, so I'll have to add too it slowly in preparation. I'd love to obtain a Kuiter's and a Blue Star for sure, possibly a Choati.

Choati are the hardest, from what I hear. Kuiters have proven difficult, and I've struggled with female blue star but they're supposed to be easier than other leopards. I've had most success with the harder leopards to keep for some reason.

IMO you only need enough sand for them to hide. 1.5-2" is all I have probably

Current angel that recently passed after 10 years. :(

the flame I assume? Confusing because the CBB is in focus!

Sorry for your loss!
