The Angel Lovers Thread

I recently added a Flame Angel and a Coral Beauty at the same time in my 65 Gallon mixed reef . It's been about a month and both are being civil with one another, no issues with them fighting but my flame angel is picking on some LPS.

I tried adding a Flame into my 240g last weekend with a Rustu and Lamarks that have been in there for a few months. The Lamarks did not care at all but the Rusty (who has been very mellow) was not having it. It was all over the Flame, non-stop. It was so bad that I decided to pull out whichever one I could catch first. The Flame was exhausted, so it is back in QT now until I find a buyer.

Thanks everyone for your input on the flame angel.

I've decided to just get a coral Beauty angel fish. It's presently in my quarantine tank.

One other question; is it a good idea to treat it with copper in the quarantine tank or not as a preventative measure (appears to be healthy)? If it is a good idea, what copper level should I strive for ?

Thanks everyone for you patience and input.

Allen

I noticed a lot of you guys keep these angles in full blown reef tanks! Don't they eat everything lol? I would love to keep a potters angel but my coral beauty already nips sometimes I wouldn't want to lose any coral

I thought my Flame Angel was messing with some of my corals, but it turns out the hermits and my Pink Spotted Goby were the chumps messing with the Chalices and fungi plates

Has anyone successfully kept a queen angel? thinking of getting one for my 220 g tank and hearing mixed reviews on keeping one. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is one of the easier ones I've had over the years. Mine was reef safe until I added an emperor angel that loved zoas. The queen watched him eat zoas and tasted them and also started eating my zoas. So both had to go :(
