The Angel Lovers Thread

There was an adult Tiger Angelfish on eBay. I'm not sure I've ever seen one for sale. $15K obo. A bit out of my price range.

My current stock list
1-Centropyge shepardi
1-Centropyge potteri
1-Paracentropyge multifasciata
1-Genicanthus semifasciatus ( female)
1-Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus,
1-Pygoplites diacanthus (Red Sea variant)
1-Pomacanthus xanthometopon (juvenile)

I am setting up a 525 XL RedSea REEFER. The tank is mostly zoas, acans, hammers, tourches, and some chalice. Is there a good large species angle for this tank stock?

Thanks! I have heard Majestics and Regals do well
I've never tried a majestic angel with those corals, though I wouldn't be optimistic about the zoas and acans.

I have seen a few specimens of regals with those particular corals, and acqns, zoas, and chalices were all eaten.

Saw this angel at my lfs today such a beautiful fish. It's being raffled off at the Columbia aquarium club meeting that is being held at my lfs in South Carolina. Wish I had a bigger tank to get it. A fish I would maybe give up my corals for.

I agree. I love blueface angels. Definitely an underappreciated species.

Beautiful specimen. Does it eat?

These misbar RS regals actually aren't that rare. I see them quite often at my LFS. They usually come in at around 3 to 4" and are about $90 to $100.

Is there anyone that is breeding dwarf angelfish?
There are several people raising angels successfully, most are not commercially available yet. Although Bali Aquarich has been shipping several species of captive bred angels stateside. They've started working with dwarf angels more recently.

We will see major changes on this front in the next couple years ;)

I'm not sure if it was eating but it was pecking the sides and bottom. This was at a fish store that I had never been to before. I was in the area picking up a zoa frag and the seller told me I should check this store out. I've never seen a misbar, but I don't see Regals very often and they are usually more expensive too. There was a big Achilles Tang right next to it too for $140. Where are you?

Ive heard angels are not reef safe but I would love to get one to add some color to my tank. Anyone have any good experiences where the angel didn't bother your corals and if so what kind was it?
I got this Cherub Pygmy Angel from someone's reef and have had it in mine for about a year. It occasionally pecks at a coral, but it pecks at rocks too, so I don't think it's after corals.
