We have a sponge like this on a mushroom frag that my son named Booger.

I have come to really appreciate all the hitchhiker sponges that show up. They are really interesting and come in various colors with super cool growth patterns.

I'd love to have an orange one like that show up! I'm just not sure our little tank would be ok for it.

The orange ones didn't show up, I had to buy those but I have to keep them in the dark or they get covered in growth and algae. The white and blue ones don't care if they are in light or dark and they are very old. I don't even remember when they started to grow but that blue one I have to constantly trim and give away.

Trying to learn more on this sponge. Grows like mad crazy in my tank. Makes some cool looking features. Moves around in flow. It does grow in high flow areas but when gets to long sometimes it rips off and starts growing in other areas.

I'll grab some pics later but I have yellow, white,black, and blue. I've had my rock for almost 20 years so it's has a bunch but a lot of it is under the rocks

One of my goals with my latest Aquarium has been to have a lot of sponges. the one in the first post like bright light but I have some in the dark also.

The picture below show (not a good picture) a orange species that forms small balls

Never seen a sponge like that. It's beautiful!

I´ll see if I´m able to get a better picture of that species. One of the public Aquarium of Gothenburg (Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet) has some in one of their aquariums. And their species are growing in the light. Possible to take a photo of them
