I went from 5 to 2 in one night based on my saliferts testYou've got a fuge going so I'd say just remove the algae (looks like GHA, but not exactly flourishing) while siphoning with your next water change. Then watch and see if the fuge and cuc can control it from there. Algae are always present so there's no real eradicating them without starving out everything else.
You're reacting early which is great, manual removal is your first defense. You can up your fuge photoperiod as well if you suspect a nutrient imbalance. I'd do that before using any phosphate removal media, but that's just my .2
So that's the double edged sword right? You don't want to strip it too much but you want to control a specific algae. Your best bet, even though it kinda sucks, is manually removing what you don't want and finding a cuc that will control it once it's pruned back. I don't have time now but ill read those articles soon. Thanks!This is a common occurance unfortunately. Too many and they start starving to death which just dumps the nutrients they've sequestered back into the system. Keep an eye on them if possible.
Phosphorus advice can be confusing, keep in mind we can only test for Dissolved inorganic phosphorus (aka PO4, phosphate, orthophosphate). Corals are also using Particulate Organic Phosphorus (POP) and Dissolved Organic Phosphorus (DOP). From the research I've read it seems PO4 anywhere betrween .03 and .5 is probably acceptable.
