Is it better to observe then treat ,or just treat no matter what. Using copper for treatment.
 
I wait to see if anything rears it's ugly head. Years ago I lost over $350 worth of fish to copper poisoning because we didn't easy access to copper test kits back then (early '70's), and I over dosed them. The copper precipitates to the rock and if u have a Ph change it can come back into suspension, OD'ing the tank. If u use pvc in the qt it's less of an issue.
 
Buy quarantined fish, DD, PIA, Cherry Fish, ORA etc. Then QT the the fish in CP for 30 days with a couple of GC doses. Basically the method in the link above but start with a healthy probably disease free fish and doing due diligence.

It's never a guaranty that fish from them are save.
Always quaritine the full 100%
