Whats the BEST lighting system i can use / make for a twenty gallon Frag tank as well as a 75 gallon display reef?! Open to all input!!

I'm pretty partial to Orphek LED lighting which is a sponsor here. I've been using mine for a few months now and I have incredible growth and color. But that's just my opinion...there are a lot of different options, t5's, metal halide, led etc. I like led's because they have the shimmer you get from halides and the intensity, also they bring out great colors in corals and Orphek developed the only reef specific diode out right now specifically for marine invertebrates. Also they don't take as much electricity to run and they tend to run a lot cooler so they won't heat your water as much as a halide.

3x t5 but if you go with led use 1w instead of 3w. the 3w will be way to much for 10"-12"of water

Thats why you don't use as many and/or use a wider lens (or no lens at all lol) I get excellent growth in my 12g biocube w/ 18 3w crees w/ no lens :)

I have a 60 degree lens on mine, over a 20g DT and I couldn't ask for better results! I don't feed, and I only dose calcium. I use one of the best salts possible and an Orphek DIF50XP multichip pendant and everything is growing like crazy including my chalices.

I'm seriously considering the new Orphek DIF100XP pendants on my 225. Really love the way they look.

I am going to setup a 20gal here pretty soon and I'll be using 2 Orphek PR-25 bulbs for it. These bulbs are pretty incredible. Orphek FTW!!

I've got Orphek and though I want to try other lights, I don't know if I could stray from em, they're seriously incredible! My growth and color have been amazing!

Hmmm I have never even heard of orphek.. I will check them out I will now be ditching the 20 and will be going with a 30 gallon 36 in long 12in wide and 16 In tall I think I may use a t5 4 bulb unit 54 watts per bulb, I will mainly be doing exotic Z & P's but will be doing Lps as well as sps. Bulb types and configurations? What are we thinkin R2R!?

I've got a 12" royal blue stunner, really good light but I would only suggest that for supplement light. You'll need some day lights if you're keeping coral. Orphek is a sponsor here, also there are LEDTRiC (who just came out with some new lights), Evolution which I can vouch for, Ecoxotic has some solid lights, EcoTech's to me are a bit over priced (sorry guys) and there are always the trusty Kessil, for such a small package they pack a powerful punch!

Also MAY use a single 453 NM ecoexotic panarama 12" unit! Thoughts?

I use one of the panorama pro units as supplemental lighting over my frag tank, which has a 4-24" T5 fixture over it. I really like the panorama unit, it gives great light and is made very well IMO.

I have a DIY built by fellow reefer with 3 watt Crees and couldn't be happier. If u want full color spectrum that will be the only led option other than radions or maxpect I believe, however, some are finally catching on so we should be seeing new options that are better than just the blue and white IMO.

I run 2 ecoexotic panoramas on my ten and love them! for the thirty gallon i have decided on doing a 4 bulb t'5 unit by coral life, 4 36watt bulbs, what bulb configuration would work best for growth + color? brands and bulb spectrums please :)

2 ATI Blue Plus
1 ATI Aqua Blue Special
1 KZ Fiji Purple for better Red's, Purples, Pinks (doesn't enhance growth, only looks)

For growth only I'd do another Blue Plus in place of the fiji purple
