Have you seen the diy chaeto reactors? That might be a solution for limited space. Just a phosban reactor with some led strips, mostly.

I have seen them and considered making one but I’ve read that the heat from the leds can cause problems with the acrylic. I have an old avast reactor that would be a good candidate for it. I really wish there was some way to run the skimz externally.
