Just a little back ground on my first try at a marine aquarium.
I grew up along the Texas Gulf coast, always wanting to try my hand at a reef aquarium.
Had a few fresh water set up's growing up as a kid in the '80s . My older brother had a Saltwater set up and discouraged from ever trying. Well that passion for the sea only got stronger over the years until Nov 2012 when I got an unexpected bonus and splurged on my first reef set up.
Here I am three years later and still learning but gaining knowledge from local reefers in and around Houston.
I can't thank the reefing community enough for all the knowledge I've gain from sites like Reef2Reef.
You guys rock!
So here's my set up currently.
Coral Life Bio Cube 29 Gallon
Light- AI Prime
Filtration- Gutted chamber two , removed false floor added Fuvel PC Light for macro algae and live rock.
About 25 Lbs of mixed live rock.
Return Pump / Power Heads - Colbalt MJ 1200 / Jebao RW- 4
What it currently looks like as of 12/9/2015
Current live stock
Corals- Mixed batch of zoanthids ,Mushrooms ,fungi plates and LPS (Chalices, Trumpts, Scoly)
Fish - Midnight Clown fish, Mystery Wrasse , and a Arc Eye Hawk
Inverts - Torch Snails, Mexican Turbos, Blue legged Hermits and a hugh 3 year old Coral Brand Shrimp.
