Hi Guys,
Still in the research phase of my modest return. I read that fleece roller filters are the Bees Knees but could take out more than is good for a mainly coral tank.
I would like to run an Algae Turf Scrubber as opposed to a refugium (space is at a premium). Would such a setup with a fleece roller negate the need for a skimmer? Any ideas or pointers will be gratefully received.

Although I do think a fleece roller would negate (or at least lesson) the need for a protein skimmer, one of the most beneficial aspects of a protein skimmer is the oxygenization. Some people use a protein skimmer for this and this alone.
