So i haven't been working as much this week and watching the fish since one of my yellow tangs died. Well watching the behaviors another smaller one is hiding in the rocks and barely eating. Low and behold when ever a yellow tang comes out the purple bullies it until it goes back into the rocks. I qt them all together, introduced all together, feed 2 to 3 times a day, and in a 360 gallon tank. Other than pulling him out and placing in the refugium and giving the others a chance to recover can he be calmed down. Thinking of adding more fish and rock and allowing everyone to establish space before reintroducing. No fighting for months then poof psycho.

Sometimes things like that happen. Being that you have a relatively large tank, you might try multiple yellows and reintroduce the purple.
If you go this route, get odd numbers. I.e. 3,5,7 etc.
I have a yellow eye Tang that was the same as your purple, added 5 yellows, and poof, no more aggression.
The theory behind this is that with multiples of the same fish, the aggressor doesn't know who to chase 1st.

I got 3 and he knocked one out and now going for two at a time and a rock beauty. Only the male blond naso and shark where left alone

Welp... Seems like you have an ****** purple. Definitely does happen.
Sounds like you made to right move to banish him to the sump.
Fish all have personalities, some more pleasant than others..

Oddly, your tank is too big for just 3-5 tangs. You'd be better off with 5-7 zebrasoma if you're going with a purple. Sometimes 3-5 can work but the larger the tank the more they feel they can defend territory. Crowding is somewhat helpful here and distracting enough.

Zebrasoma do tend to chill out and accept new tangs if the new additions can survive the 1-10 day beat down period.

Doesn't have to be all yellow right? Can it be other zebrasoma? I figured if i get more fish and rock and let everyone establish territory i might be ok. I can see him lashing out at the yellow but the rock beauty too?

I think it was a matter of color. The yellow tangs made the purple see red! The Rock Beauty was simply a victim of being the same color.

Sounds terribly racist

Just checked on him. Well he's ticked at me. Won't come to the front or take the food. But the yellow tangs are starting to come out
