The difference between ich & velvet

I’ll try and get my hands on antibiotics but I’m in the uk so it’s very difficult if not impossible to purchase them without a prescription. Thanks for that post it was really informative!
Can you get access to Ruby Reef Rally or their Hydroplex? At least you could use these as a bath as they both have some antibacterial applications.

What do my fishies have?

Many people have a hard time telling the difference between ich & velvet, or incorrectly assume all "white spots" are ich. Below are some pics of a Hippo Tang - the first one has ich, the next 4 show velvet.

Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) - Oval shaped white dots, can usually be counted. These remain on the fish for 3-7 days before dropping off to continue their lifecycle.

Velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum) - Smaller round white dots. Oftentimes completely covering the fish & too numerous to be counted. These remain 12 hrs - 4 days before dropping off. Velvet is a far deadlier, more dangerous pathogen than ich.

My 3 of10 fish in my tank had ich ( Freshwater tank ). I treated the whole tank. All of them are ok now. I want to clean the whole tank after treatment . So, my fishes wont get ich again. What I need to do step by step to kick all ich out of the tank ( whole system ). Please. Thank you so much.
