Ok, if you've done your own LED lights..did you buy your stuff around Nashville or did you order online? I just purchased T5's so I'll be using them for awhile, but I want to build LED's while I wait for my bulbs to dissipate. Heat sink, drivers, controller (Apex Jr hopefully), power cords, thermal paste, soldering iron, stealth fan and Cree 3W LEDs... What else do I need? I'm hoping to get it locally, as the wife is tired of the recent packages arriving :xd:

People around here have had success with the Bridgelux LED's from aquastyleonline.com. I got those and my Meanwell Drivers from the internet. Aluminum u and angle, nylon washers, self tapping screws, all from Lowes/Home Depot. There are lots of good guides on DIY led's out there even for those of us who aren't so electrically inclined. Don't forget the flux!

I used led from aquastyleonline.com. it cost me about as much to build my whole led setup as it would just to replace t5 or mh every year. They sell drivers for pwn or manual dimming. They work great. The leds and such ur going to have to order. But the u- channel for heatsink get at home depot or lowes for $10 per 8'. I'm sure that stuff palaegic listed works good but at $35/8' that's gona cost u as much in alluminum as the leds are.

I got the rapid led kit , it's good but I wish I would have gone with the Aquastyle kit just to save a good chunk of money .

Kicking myself for not researching more on the DIY kits..the aqua style would have been perfect. Oh well, T5's for now...
