I want to add T5's to my Hydras but the Aquatic Life Hybrid is a bit much and I am looking for a DIY project. I looked at the Helios on Amazon and it states right in the bullets "Uses Standard T5 Bulbs"

Sweet. I went back to look at the eBay page I got them from and it does say fits all universal T5 HO bulbs so I think you’re right I was just a bit confused. That’s a bit high price on amazon though. I paid $100 for 2 36” fixtures with bulbs included and the bulbs look nice! I placed it over my current tank and they definitely bring out some good colors.

I agree, they are expensive on Amazon. I was just looking a couple weeks ago and brain storming.

Decided to line the bottom of the glass with black pvc sheets. Makes me feel about placing rock on the glass and if anything falls it might not be as bad. Used silicone to hold it down that way nothing can get under and cause problems.

I’ve been working on the sump for the past three days and it’s finally done! Really happy with how it turned out. Made from 1/4” thick acrylic. Used a 40b for the sump which should be more than enough for the 120g

Silicone needs to be cleaned up a bit but for a DIY sump I’m really happy with how it turned out. Built for less than $80.

Now on to plumbing!

Made it my self with left over acrylic I had from the sump. I got the acrylic sheet for $30! It was a 24x48 sheet and while most went to making the baffles, I had some left over for the sock holder. I still have plenty left to make a lid for my over flow box and a frag rack.
