So I guess I never learn a lesson that whenever we go on vacation, disaster strikes our tanks for some unexplainable reason . Went on a week long vacation and all my tanks are monitored by apex and I trust apex.
I setup a temp qt tank for my sps for I found an AEFW on one of the frags I acquired. So in short I removed all sps in my display and placed in the qt tank and everything was well for 2 weeks before we left for a vacation. Qt has no apex so I can’t monitor it but I do have a Arlo pro in my garage so I can hear and partially see the tank.
Came home today to this:

The tank was all milky so I drained to see if there’s any frags that made it but 100% total loss .
I am devastated, all my prized frags and colonies are in here and not a single one made it.
Now I promised myself that the next time I have a tank crash that I will totally shut down and turn my back and call it quits.
Main tank still running but feels naked. Now I am thinking of just shutting the main tank and leave my red sea anemone tank.
I am so ticked right now.

No idea. The temp was at 81 but they should be okay since Main tank runs as high as 83 at times.
But my guess will be carbon monoxide.
Before we left for vacation, as we are loading the van I have it partially parked in the garage and just slipped my mind that I have my qt tank in the garage. So I guess the accumulation of CO gas in the garage and closed it right away when we left likely nuked the qt tank [emoji20]

Oh this is something new. And I believe your garage has no ventilation for air change

dang bro, I just remembered you had some high end zoas and I looked up your name to buy some from you and I read this horrible news. So sorry bro, I hate reading tank crash, it happened to me too and quit for a couple of years and now I'm back at it again, I'm sure you'll bounce right back.

Sorry for your loss !! But a lesson is just a lesson ... just learn from it ..expensive one granted... your obviously good with corals , and I’m sure people will donate too help build it back up ... reach out too the people you’ve sold too maybe .. I hope you don’t give up .. good luck !!

Yes I will be back for sure. Already have corals in line on the rebuild. Will redo all rockworks and run the main tank fallow for 8 weeks due to busy schedule. This time only selected sps will be added. The itch is there to restock right away, patience... patience....

Dang. What a complete bummer! I hate to see crazy things happen. Makes me really not wanna go on Vaca this year. So sorry for your disaster. I would prolly feel equally distressed. You won’t throw in the towel. You’ll be rt back at it in a few days.

Don’t give up buddy. Just look at it as an opportunity to build a completely new reef adding back the corals you loved and not the ones you didn’t care for anyways. I would go ahead and reset your quarantine and see if any corals come back. Sorry that happened as I know how disappointing and frustrating you must feel. Keep your head up obviously you know how to grow some great corals.

Just a quick update:
So after about 4 months of running fallow, the time has come to re-stock the tank. Also re did the aquascape (sort of). The itch is back and new chapter has begun. These are just a few frags I have acquired from homewrecker to WD, to jawdropper, to pink cadillac, to arc fireworks to ORA pearlberry, fox flame and so fort. There is roughly around 30 frags in tank right now and every single frag is doing really great. They need more time to adjust but so far everything is thriving. I have more frags coming after Thanksgiving. So stay tuned.
