Am I the only one who loves the small critters in the aquarium? Like I love my tang, foxface, clownfish, etc. But usually I find myself just looking for the small animals I have, I feel they sort of add layers and authenticity to an aquarium, kind of. I wish I could get more invertebrates, but none of the stores in my country have much variety.

I am 100% with you. Don’t get me wrong, I love fish and coral but I absolutely love the little critters. It’s amazing watching them and any other little life that pops up in the tank. Even amphipods and little copepods. It’s amazing. I love watching corals, anemones, and clams feed as well. I wish there was a bigger selection of reef safe inverts or inverts that wouldn’t nuke the tank if they die.

I like the small critters too! They make a tank really interesting to watch.

I agree. Sometimes I think it's more natural to watch a small fish explore the tanks nooks and crannies than something like a tang just do laps. Beautiful clown goby by the way!

Yes, absolutely my favorite part of a reef aquarium. I spend more time watching the copepods in my sump than I do watching the fish in my dispay half the time.

I’ve spent countless hours lying on the floor with my phone’s flashlight looking at the refugium. It’s just so fascinating because that’s their natural behavior. With big fishes the way they behave is fairly affected by captivity, but with these animals you sort of know that that’s most likely the way they behave in the wild, to some extent.

Thanks

Thank you! He/ she was sort of an impulse buy, very pleased with my decision, his face radiates a personality none of my other fishes can match.
