I purchased a file fish to eat the sand anemone, least that is what I called them, it did a great job. The bad was once they were gone it started eating my acans. I removed the few he did not finish off. So I guess decided to try a small maxima.

Pretty funny. But you should of known he was going to go after stuff like that.. Isn't that what they naturally do.

:ohwell: Poor fish, only doing what comes naturally. Even after he did a great job, what a waste.

It was a aiptasia eating filefish. I guess they are like copperband butterfly. It is a hit or miss. He ate no aiptasia for about a month. Then he went for them and started on what I really wanted out were those sand anemones. He ripped them out would dive into the sand to get them.

Once they were gone acans started getting smaller. The clam closed pretty fast and would not let go. The fish died later that evening, but the clam would not let go for about 3 days. The clam did have some damage and never opened up fully and died. The file fish cost about 15$ and killed or ate hundreds of dollars between acans and the clam.
