Very nice work. Super frustrating to go through that and I can imagine he appreciates the support.


I've never seen an Aquatic Life fixture in person so I'm wondering if the bulbs will need to be cooled differently with the ballast upgrade? Will be curious to see how that turns out! You should take PAR measurements before and after with LEDs off

He replaced his that way and said it made a difference for him, he also didn't change the cooling. Unfortunately I don't have a par meter!

Although the fixture is quite weak, so I'm hoping it will be impactful.

It was about time for a deep clean..

- Adjusted the UV to work better
- cleaned pumps
- siphoned some bubbles out
- cleaned the skimmer inside and out
- put in a sock and stirred up the sand a bit
- turned calrx up, corals been eating alk !

So I should have documented this just for fun.. but I mentioned helping a friend remove aefw in his 270 (8x3x2). I've oy got the one pic, but here's what we did.

Everything is responding beautifully! Wish I had taken pics but we were too busy working on it.

Nice progression. Thanks for sharing. Was curious what his system was looking like during the project.

It's occurred to me I need to build a new list of SPS. I've gotten rid of a whole bunch of larger basic stuff for a huge assortment of small higher end stuff! So.. New list needs to be made! Will be a work in progress to say the least.

Cant believe u dont have an excel spreadsheet or something electronic-based to keep track. Plus easier editing too... keeping track of ur frag tank must be like warehouse cycle counting. Ha

I could send you a template, but I assume you are an Excel expert by now. FYI, may have said this here before, I like using Google Sheets for tank stuff so I always have it on hand.
