One can read many contradictory things in this hobby. Which one makes you laugh and what does it prove?

You can’t use well water or tap water to top off a reef tank. It actually works just like RODI if you have a good well or municipal water supply.

Proves that most people live in the city and pay too much for their water.

Interestingly my old tank took off when I started using tap water. Nothing ever grew so fast…

That there is only one way to have a thriving reef tank. And it’s usually whomever is telling you their story and how great they are. Some LFS owners come to mind. Lol!
