So I am having an outbreak of ich in my tank. As of now I only see 2 fish being affected out of 8. I set up a hospital tank today and am awaiting a package of ionic copper to treat.

After treatment, what is everyone's protocol for sterilizing equipment? I haven't had ich in my tanks in 15 years...Also, would it be safe to use the hospital tank as a quarantine tank in the future?

Looking forward to seeing and hearing thoughts.

All the best- Prof. A

The common opinions I found when researching the same topic were:
  • just let it dry out
  • clean it off with water + vinegar (let it air dry)
  • clean it off with water + bleach solution (let it air dry)
Hopefully I don't have to go through it but the vinegar option seems most appealing to me...

I kind of figured a vinegar or bleach soak would be the way to go. Thank you. Wasnt sure if it'd be good for use again
