Hi my name is Casey. I have been building a tank for over a year and a half. I just got water in it a couple weeks ago. I am now enjoying the cycling process and some growing pains. The sump cracked 1 week after turning the system on so I am waiting till it can be fixed before I can turn everything back on. Here are some pics of the system and I will give more info later. Sorry the pics are crappy, I will get more later.

Wow....awesome setup! Is this your first reef tank? I'm insanely jealous of your fish room/area. The time you took to build shows in the organization of your setup. That stinks about your initial issues...we all have something that needs tweaking in the beginning!

Show us some more pics and share more details! Welcome to the forum as well...so much good info here!

Thanks! I'll post some more pictures and info when I get off work today!

Yes what TruRacr said ^above^ really admirable start to the hobby. And another BIG WELCOME to R2R.

Cheers, Todd

Here is some more information about my build. A year and a half ago I decided I wanted to get a new saltwater tank. I had not had one in nearly 2 years while I remodeled my house. My wife and I decided to get a 90 gallon tank bc we thought we would do a small cheaper system for awhile. So I started buying equipment a little at a time. After a few months our ambitions grew! We decided to put the filtration in the basement. So we spent a long time acquiring equipment and that's where we are now. After bringing the brand new tank, stand, and canopy in the dinning room we decided the oak stand and trim on the tank did not look good with our bamboo floors. So I took the never been used stand and tore it apart. Added new trim and doors, then had it professionally painted. Here is a pic of the stand after adding new trim and doors. I don't think I have a picture of the original stand.

This is my first reef tank. I bought it as a sophomore in high school, and had it running till I graduated college. It was a very cheap setup, all I could afford as a high school student.

My dog Saban loves fish tanks as much as me! He sits there for hours watching hermit crabs. The little fella is gonna go crazy when the first fish goes in!

very nice setup! the stand really looks like it has a cherry stain on it - it doesn't looked painted. I love the picture with the dog - that is precious!

Just got a new white tail tang! Sorry the picture is blurry... still haven't gotten my camera back.
