Look at these adorable sea puppies

Just look at them! I love their little faces and their personalities so much lol. The diatoms have gone and now I am having a pod explosion. They got a conch and some hermit friends to help clean up their scraps, and also have a sump lord, which is a chocolate chip starfish that is sacrificing arms for the reef tanks harlequin:eek:

Wow this is a real predator display AND sump!!!

We are in NJ this week so we stopped at the Atlantic City aquarium. There really wasn’t much there, but they did have a pair of rhinopias frondosa!

I’m glad I got to see them in person before ordering one because they are much larger then I had pictured! There was a dragon eel also

The kids had fun, my son loved the sharks and rays.

Love these! Reminds me of Biomes in RI which my kids love.

What is Biomes? Is it an aquarium? I must be spoiled by the Pittsburgh aquarium because I wasn’t very impressed until I saw the rhinopias (which were only labeled as scorpions) lol. Honestly I wasn’t very impressed with all of Atlantic City, I guess I just pictured it differently. They did have a nice little reptile section on the second floor though and since reptiles are my 2nd favorite thing that made me happy haha.

If your not there to gamble, its a pretty overated city imo.

If we didn’t have the kids with us I would have been down to visit the casinos lol. I know a few people who absolutely love Atlantic City, but they only go to gamble.

Board walk is ok, wildwood is much better if your there with family.

I’ve heard good things about wildwood as well. We are staying right off the boardwalk in OCNJ. It’s my first time here, we usually do OBX.

Very focused on hands on learning of sea life. Also tortoises, frogs, etc. For all ages. Several different tanks with many open for petting.

That looks amazing! We will definitely have to check it out if we are ever in the area!

The tortoises we saw were doing something not especially family friendly hahaha,I had to tell my son they were just climbing on each other when he asked what they were doing lol.

LOL! I had to start “the talk” with my girls because of our snails.

Hahaha neither of us are ready for “the talk”. Maybe in a decade or two lol.

The boys just ate and are looking pretty.

I love how their colors intensify when they go into hunting mode, sometimes Thor is almost completely red. I can’t remember if I mentioned already, but they got a green serpent star roommate to help clean up their scraps. With how messy they are it is going to get huge in no time lol.

One on the right looks chuby haha! Can brittle stars survive off just food scraps or do you need to feed them extra aswell?

Haven’t you heard? Thor is chubby these days lol. They tend to not touch food once it hits the bottom (snobs) so the serpent star gets plenty to eat.

The boys tank is starting to get some good coralline growth already. Maybe when I finally get that rhinopias it will encourage it to stay a nice pretty pink lol. I am kicking around the idea of moving my softies into the lion tank instead of doing macro. I think I am going to go LPS heavy again in the reef tank. It is nearly impossible to find a good CUC that is lion safe and also won’t eat macro anyway lol.

I changed the rock work around a bit today and let me tell you how nerve wracking that was! Thor is super interested in my hands, and will not be shooed away, so it took forever lol. Since T’Challa likes to swim through the caves I made him a larger one because he grew a bit. I made a few extra overhangs too since that is what Thor prefers. A wc is still on the agenda for tonight.

If all goes according to plan then the boys will have a couple of new roommates arriving tomorrow! Fingers crossed!
